In Outlook Express, e-mail settings are stored here: Tools on the menu bar, then Accounts. A window opens, pick the Mail tab. From there you can add, remove, or change the properties of an e-mail account.
In Outlook, email settings are stored here: Tools on the menu bar, then E-mail Accounts.... A window opens, select View or change existing e-mail accounts, then click Next. On the next page double click the account you wish to change, or highlight it and click the change button. The next page is where you will begin making changes.
Our account settings are as follows:
- Account name (Outlook Express)
User Name (Outlook)
Your entire email address, for example joe@mightymoose.us
- Password
As specified when you created your account. It is case sensitive -- be sure your Caps Lock key is off.
- Incoming mail server type
POP3
- Incoming mail server setting
mail. followed by the domain you are using for email. Your available choices are: mail.mightymoose.us mail.outbacknevada.us mail.outbacknv.us mail.rubymtns.us mail.lastwild.us mail.spcreek.us mail.springcreeknv.us
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
The same as your incoming mail server as shown above.
- Outgoing mail server requires authentication
In Outlook Express, it will be on the same screen as the mail servers. Just check the box. In Outlook it will be under More Settings ... and then Outgoing Server. Just check the box.
- Outgoing mail server port
Port 26 In Outlook Express you will find it on the last tab, Advanced. Just change it from the default of 25 to 26. In Outlook, it is under More Settings ..., and again the last tab Advanced. Change the outgoing server from 25 to 26.
